biography

Moe-chan isn’t confident in herself at all! She had a rough childhood and is overly emotional. She’s terrified of nightmares, and she hates fighting. She only became a professional magical girl because she needed the money. But with the help of her emotional support cat, Snookums-sama, she manages to find a way to win every time. Perhaps it’s because of her charm, but for some reason, she is consistently ranked near no. 25. She’s not even good at her job and she cries too much, so many other magical girls are jealous of her high ranking. Her mentor, Mini-chan, tells her to keep her head held high and be proud of the ranking, but Moe-chan always feels like she doesn’t deserve it.

Abilities

Moe-chan is actually really bad at fighting. She usually misses her attacks or gets whacked a couple of times before someone else arrives to help her. Perhaps her ability is being a damsel in distress? When she levels up, she has a powerful move that always one-hit-kills the nightmare she’s fighting.

Fun Facts

Moe-chan always goes to Sleep with her cat. The two are inseparable.
Moe-chan is obsessive about keeping her things neat and clean, a trait she shares with Maid-chan.
Moe-chan works hard to take care of her two little brothers, who are 16 and 14-years old. She is also in college pursuing a dual degree in Social Work and Child Psychology.
Moe-chan’s best friend, Marker-chan, recruited her to work for The Moe Kawaii Cutie Agency.
Moe-chan is named after the agency and is the icon of the brand.

Author's Notes

Of course, I had to add in a character that’s overly dramatic and super moe. Moe-chan herself is a parody of Sailor Moon during season one. (I know I keep referencing the anime Sailor Moon, but I rewatched the whole thing when I was preparing to draw this webcomic. I also struggled through Sailor Moon Crystal, and I watched two seasons of Pretty Cure, Yuki Yuna is a Hero Club Member, and Loli Rock. I tried to watch Fate Kalied Prisma Illyia, but then I realized it was gross.)

Anyway, I wanted to put all the “typical” magical girl aspects into Moe-chan. Pink hair. Sailor outfit. Cute animal companion. All of that is NOT what MGMC is. So then, what is MGMC? Even I don’t exactly know yet. But I can tell you it’s not another Sailor Moon. I promise you that.
